March 2023
Five Easter Baking Cutters. And before you knew it, Easter is on the horizon. Not that it should come as any surprise. As soon as Christmas is over, the eggs are in the shops, so we’ve had some warning! Though I’ll allow the fact that it’s a moveable feast as some sort of defence.
Easter baking, I reckon, is a little bit more special than Christmas – oh I know what you’re thinking – gingerbread houses, Christmas cake and decorations – are you off your yoke! No, I’m not. With Easter baking you get the vibe of spring, with similar spices to Christmas but a much lighter feel. Easter biscuits, that it seems, originated in our home county of Somerset (or the West Country at least) use only the cinnamon flavoured Cassia oil, rather than the whole gourmet of spices.
Then there’s your hot cross buns with melted butter – pure ambrosia. And we’re a traditional house here. That said, though there’s room for the choc chip ones, I draw the line at rhubarb and custard – yeuiww.
The latest fad
This year I’m definitely going to give last year’s fad of, Easter Egg Cheesecakes a go. And I heard, on the grapevine that Cadburys Crème Egg is available in white chocolate this year. Not so sure on that one to be honest!
Anyway! That’s enough rambling from me, methinks. Onwards onto our Easter showcase 2023 of Five Easter Baking Cutters – Ta daaaa! This year we’ve created a few bunnies, some embossing stamps and finessed our Geo Easter Egg. So here we go! Hold tight!
1. A tall skinny bunny
We’re starting with our tall skinny bunny – we’re thinking our set of three all in row like skittles? They don’t look unlike a skittle TBH. Find this one on our Etsy store here.
2. The front facing bunny
This is the front bunny – *shrugs* I know, with over thirty rabbit designs it’s gone all Watership Down and it’s getting a little tricky to name them. He’s facing you, with all his features, and I wonder if a pair of dungarees? Or is that only me?
3. Bunny bottom
Bunny Butt anyone? We created this one for a jewellery client in the first instance. working it in clay. He works well in the cookie dough – and the little tail – aww. It makes us go all soppy and our little ears waggle! Find this bunny cutter here in our Etsy store.
4. The cotton tail bunny
Talking tails, the cotton tail Bunny -nice and original! – is a take on our round rabbit from last year.
5. Embossing stamps
For 2023 we have three new designs for your delectation:
The plaque is about 6cm square so a little larger than our other designs, plenty of Happy Easter still available in our shops. You can find the full Easter collection here.
And as always – you know the drill if you’ve been with us for a while, if you want a design created, especially to stand out from the crowd, then pop over your design and we’ll take a look. Contact details are here.
Happy Easter to you and yours, enjoy that white Crème Egg – ooo I think perhaps one might be my limit – let’s see.
